In this workshop we will use our proprioceptive awareness to access our voices. Through a series of intertwining exercises and methodologies we will investigate pitch, timbre and phonemic resonance as felt experiences, working to translate this somatic knowledge into muscular-skeletal form. This work is rooted in physical practice. No prior experience with the voice is required.

Movement Research Process Labs are workshops facilitated by dance and movement-based artists to share their individual creative practice and process with peer artists and the general public. In this special summer series (in partnership with BRIC) they will explore how these practices interact with the spacious and dynamic public gallery space of BRIC House. These labs are geared towards performing artists and anyone interested in movement exploration.
