The Domestic Performance Agency is a long term performance and space co-founded by Athena Kokoronis with Domestic partner Jack Haskell, that has been in operation since July 2014. DPA searches for the dance in a commitment to choreographic problem-solving with, or through domestic strategy.
Since its opening, Athena has offered appointments in the form of a performance for an audience of one called “Introduction to the Domestic Performance Agency.” There have been 41 Introductions up to date and a number of Follow-ups. One such Follow-up with Tatyana Tenenbaum has become a collaboration titled, #BoltforThunder. We invite you to #BoltforThunder.
#BoltforThunder is a 4-day shop with performance excerpts of the evolving choreographic work for singing bodies, Thunder by Tatyana Tenenbaum. The materiality of Thunder has initiated a collection of garments that will be for sale at the Domestic Performance Agency. You may purchase any of the collection that you will find at different states of the process.
Side by side #BoltforThunder and Tenenbaum’s Thunder are simultaneous inquiries into choreographic problems of labor, love, materiality, process and duration.
